Sharing Our Quiet Time Inspirations!

GodSpeed-Daily Inspiration

2 Peter 1:5-8 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make [you that ye shall] neither [be] barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Reflection

My Prayer: Gracious Lord, instill these moral principles in my heart. May these qualities be seen in me that others may know of Your wonderful character. Make me fruitful and useful for Your kingdom! For the only blessing that I seek, is to see You using me daily.

What does repent mean?

What does repent mean? Does repent simply mean to change our mind or is some action required? In both the Old and New Testaments, the word repent can mean - a) To be sorry about or regret something or b) To turn away from sin. In the OT, the KJV translates two Hebrew words as "repent" - The first is "Nacham" (H5162), which means to be sorry or regretful. An example is in 1 Sam. 15:35 (KJV) which says, "... the LORD repented that he had made Saul king over Israel". In this verse, repented means that the Lord regretted or was grieved that He had made Saul king. The second Hebrew word is "Shub" (H7725), which means to turn from sin. An example is in Ezek. 14:6 (KJV) which says, "... Thus saith the Lord GOD; Repent, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations". In this verse, repent means to turn away from evil. From these two OT examples we see that repent can either mean to be sorry about something or to turn from sin.In the NT, two Greek words parallel these two Hebrew words:The first is "Metamellomai" (G3338), which means to care afterwards, to regret. An example is in 2 Cor. 7:8 (KJV) which says, "For though I made you sorry with a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent...". In this verse, Paul repents (that is, regrets) causing sorrow. The second Greek word is "Metanoeo" (G3340) which Thayer's dictionary defines as, "to change one’s mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one’s past sins". An example is in Act 3:19, 26 (KJV) which say, "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out... in turning away every one of you from his iniquities". In these verses, repent means to have a change of mind and turn from sin for forgiveness. These examples show that, in both the OT and NT, repent can mean to be sorry or regretful about something or it can mean to turn away from sin. When repent is associated with salvation it means to turn from sin, as Luke 13:1-9 (NIV) show. In this passage, vs.2, 4 set the context as sin and in v.3 Jesus said, "... unless you repent [turn from sin], you too will all perish". In this verse, repent is Present (Continuous) Tense meaning that Jesus actually said, "... unless you continually repent [continually turn from sin], you too will all perish". Then, in the parable of vs.6-9, Jesus said that if a fig tree (a believer) does not bear fruit then it will be cut down. This passage tells us that a sinner must turn away from sin and lead a holy, repentant life otherwise he will be cut down and perish.Regarding salvation loss, in one sense it really does not matter what repent means. The fact is, Jesus said that we must continue to do it, whatever it is, otherwise we will perish. For example, if repent means to "eat an apple a day" then we must continue to eat an apple a day otherwise we will perish. This makes it obvious that salvation can be lost if we fail to continue to do whatever repent means. Free Will

Free Will "You must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil". (Gen. 2:17)Man has always had the free will to choose right from wrong. When God told Adam not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Gen. 2:17), Adam had the freedom to choose whether or not to obey and we know the result. Some say that free will ended when Adam sinned but the Bible tells us otherwise. In Gen. 4:6-7, the Lord said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it". So, just like Adam, Cain had the free will to choose what is right and  please God.Then, in Josh. 24:15, Joshua told the Israelites that they had a choice to make. He said, "… choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve... as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord". So we can see that in the Old Testament man had the free will to choose whether or not to be obedient. The New Testament also makes it clear that we have free will and, added to that, we have the Holy Spirit to encourage and strengthen us to choose what is right. The work of the Holy Spirit in our lives is outlined in 2 Pet. 1:3-4 which say, "His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness [so that]… you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires". These verses tell us that the Spirit empowers us to say no to sin and live a Godly life. This work of the Spirit is further explained in Php. 2:12-13 where it says, "… continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God [the Holy Spirit] who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose". Here we are told that the Holy Spirit is working within us, convicting our conscience (John 16:8) and willing our hard hearts to do what God desires of us (Ezek. 36:25-27). He softens our heart of stone and strengthens us to choose to do what is right rather than hard heartedly continue in sin. Notice that we are told to "continue" to work out our salvation. The onus is on us, in a lifelong process, to submit to the Spirit’s leading and choose what is right. We are not at the pointy end of a Holy Spirit remote control. It’s entirely our responsibility to choose obedience and the failure to do so will result in damnation. The Bible gives Christians many serious warnings about the need to persevere in holiness in order to be saved eternally (Heb. 12:14). It’s a common belief that all who receive the Holy Spirit will persevere because the Spirit will see to it that we do. But if that was true then we would not have to "work out our salvation with fear and trembling" as Php. 2:12-13 tell us. If we have no free will, but are kept in check by the Spirit, then God’s many warnings are simply a waste of words and He is a Toothless Tiger. But the truth is, we have free will and God is not a Toothless Tiger. He is a Consuming Fire and will consume His enemies just as Heb. 10:26-27 make so clear:"If we [Christians] deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God".Finally, God has given man the free will to accept or reject His call to salvation through obedience (Rom.1:5). All who accept this call receive the Holy Spirit who empowers believers to live obediently. If anyone later chooses to return to a life of unrepentant, wilful sin then he will be consumed by God’s wrath. The choice lies with each of us so let’s be like Joshua and say, "as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord". John 4:28-29 " I Met a Man "

The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, Come , see a man, which told me all things that ever I did : is not this the Messiah (Christ)?

No ordinary man can get the glory for the salvation that the Adonai (Lord), the Creator of heaven and earth, has established for us!!!!! No ordinary man could have put this together and actually followed through with it!!!! Halleluyah!!!! Thats why no matter where any of us are in our walk, its time to seek first the Kingdom of Elohiym (God) and His righteousness. This he asks for in return for the cross. The events about to be told are true, though the names have been with held to protect the innocent,,,,,, Come with us to meet a Man, that told me all about myself, come with us and meet a Man who has living water, come with us and meet a Man, who is the Bread of Heaven, come with us and meet a Man who will and does love you beyond any magnitude of love that you could ever imagine. Come and be healed!!!! Come and see His face!!!! This is whom we serve. This woman met a man but left knowing the True God.

Halleluyah to our Savior Yahshua (Jesus) thee Messiah!!!

Psalms 40:1-3 " He Has a New Song,,,For You "

For the leader. A psalm of David: I waited patiently for ADONAI, till he turned toward me and heard my cry.
He brought me up from the roaring pit, up from the muddy ooze, and set my feet on a rock, making my footing firm.
He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will look on in awe and put their trust in ADONAI.

Of all the people in the scriptures we can learn so much from king David about the gift of song in worship. When he was a mere shepherd over the flock he sang, when he was pursued as Saul tried to take his life he sang, when he became king and ruler of the tribes of Israel, he sang. But in this particular psalm something wonderful happened! David got a "new song". Not just any Ol' song but one of praise. Joy, thanksgiving, honor, greatfulness, and passion all roled up in one!! Halleluyah! How did this come about? The most powerful and loving person in the universe took the time to see about him, heard his prayer, took him out of the pit, he was made firm again. No matter where you are right now, tilt your head back, close your eyes, think on the goodness of Elohiym (God) toward you, you may find theres a new song in your spirit. If nothing else moves you,,,,just notice who it is that took the time to put it there,,,,,Halleluyah and Glory, Glory, Glory and all honor, power and and Dominion is granted to the precious Lamb of Elohiym (God) Yahshua (Jesus) the Messiah! The Solid Rock of our souls,,, Glory!

I finally found the reason for living
It’s in giving every part of my heart to Him (every part to Him)
And all that I do every word that I say (you know I’ll be saying)
I will give all my life just for Him, just for Him (every thing for Him)

We are the reason that He gave His life
We are the reason that He suffered and died
To a world that was lost He gave all He could give (all that he could give all)
To show us the reason to live

#He is the reason to live
(don’t you know do you know the reason
that he came, oh he came to save us
when he gave his life for us) he suffered and died
To a world that was lost He gave everything (everything that He had He gave)
To show us the reason to live
