Peace be unto you, as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.

"Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life" (Prov.4:23)
To an atheist, the heart is just a kind of 'mechanical pump', but the Lord makes it clear from His Word, that the heart is the very 'seat' of our innermost being, and only God is able to read it.
One of the first verses I learned as a Christian was 1 Samuel 16:7 ..
But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him.
The LORD does not look at the things man looks at.
Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
David prayed to the Lord (1 Chronicles 29:17)
"I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity." ..
Nearing the end of his life, David spoke to his son Solomon (1 Chronicles 28:9)
"And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you foresake him, he will reject you forever."
Whatever anyone else may think or say about you, only God knows your heart.
When you entrust your heart to His safekeeping, He is faithful.
We have so many wonderful assurances of this in God's Word to us.
A favourite from the 'Old Testament' is found in Deuteronomy 33:12 ..
"Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in him"
A favourite of mine from the 'New Testament' refers to our trust in Jesus (Romans 10:11)
As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."
.. so let us guard our hearts and minds in the sure and certain knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:7)
